To account for stock run outs or discontinued stock lines, alternate part numbers can be established. At sales order entry, where the part number selected is discontinued, a message and then a search window is displayed with relevant replacement items.
The record for the alternate part number is linked automatically and updated with the inventory details and displayed in the same area of the form with the Parents button enabled.
